Fruit feast day 30 #IKHLW

Today was simple. I started the day with fresh squeezed pink grapefruit juice.

For lunch I tried to eat the papaya but it was hard inside.

I don’t know if it was ripe or not but I never had this type of papaya and wanted to try it. After I couldn’t eat it, I looked up green papaya online. It is known as the cooking papaya. It is used in Asian dishes. 

According to what I read, it doesn’t get ripe and soft like other types of papaya and it has a more cucumber taste. I didn’t throw it away. I’m going to add it to my apple juice I plan on making in the morning.
I ate pineapple and jackfruit for lunch instead.

I had watermelon for dinner. Never disappoints

Fruit feast day 12 #IKHLW

Spring forward! I started my day with these beauties.


I was so happy I found the red ones, they are my favorite. Dragon fruit is so hydrating I love starting my morning with it.

I had my green papaya and I didn’t like it. I usually don’t put my papaya in the refrigerator, I eat them as soon as they ripen. Since I’ve been staying in a hotel for the weekend, I put my papaya in a plastic bag and placed it in the refrigerator. When I took it out of the bag it was wet and it tasted soggy and weird. I tried to eat as much as I could. 

“Durian would make me feel better” I thought to myself, then I decided to go to the store to get some watermelon. I ended up buying 3 pre-cut slices of watermelon. I also got strawberries, blackberries and pre-cut pineapple for work tomorrow.

When I got in the car to go to the store, the smell of durian was still lingering and I really wanted some, but I didn’t give in.

Watermelon, lime juice and chilli power with passion fruit was my next meal. Very tasty. This was my first time having passion fruit. The seeds are crunchy and tangy. I ate my other Chinese melon and finished my other two slices of watermelon.


Being without durian wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, but I did miss it. I also missed my mango coconut water smoothie. The smoothie is dense and it keeps me satisfied for a longer period of time than the dragon fruit did, which wasn’t really an issue today but when I’m at work and can’t eat all day, the smoothie is the best way for me to start the day.

Fruit feast day 11 #IKHLW

I started the day with black mission figs and a Chinese melon. It was my first time having both.


The figs were hit or miss. Some of them had a rich maple syrup flavor and some had no flavor at all. I noticed the ones with flavor had syrup coming out of them so I guess that is an indication of their ripeness.

The melon has a light refreshing taste. Like a cross between a sweet cucumber and celery. Out of the two fruits, I liked the melon the best.

I am spending the weekend at a hotel so I made sure I stocked the mini fridge with plenty of fruit.


I even snuck in some frozen durian.


Speaking of durian, I’ve had it every day since Wednesday (fruit feast day 8). I love it but I’m going to leave it alone for the rest of the fruit feast. 

As I’ve stated before I started the fruit feast to reintroduce solid food after being on a juice cleanse for 114 days. I didn’t have any fat during that time and I think my obsession with durian may have to do with the fat content. Not that I think that is a bad thing but I wanted to reintroduce one thing at a time so I’m going to stick with high water content fruits. 

I can tell there’s a difference in my digestion since I’ve been eating so much durian. It’s slower and I can feel what I eat sitting on my side while it’s digesting.

I’m ending the day with my boo, papaya. I’m going to be eating more papayas and watermelon to get my digestion back on track.

I ordered a rebounder and I’m excited to start using it and reaping the benefits. Once I receive it, I will blog about my first impression.
