I’m not going to lie, I put a lot of expectations on losing weight. I saw losing weight as a gateway to the life I always wanted. Instead I just lost weight.
Weight loss hasn’t:
- Gotten me into a relationship
- Improved my social life (I’m still an introvert and a homebody)
- Made me any money
- Opened up a world of opportunities
- Made me more assertive
I feel better and I’m closer to health than I was but there are no other drastic changes that have taken place since I’ve lost weight.
The issues that I hoped weight loss would fix really have nothing to do with weight. The issues I want to work on have nothing to do with my size.
I know I’m not alone. What expectations did/do you have around losing weight?
