What losing weight hasn’t done for me

I’m not going to lie, I put a lot of expectations on losing weight. I saw losing weight as a gateway to the life I always wanted. Instead I just lost weight.

Weight loss hasn’t:

  • Gotten me into a relationship
  • Improved my social life (I’m still an introvert and a homebody)
  • Made me any money
  • Opened up a world of opportunities
  • Made me more assertive

I feel better and I’m closer to health than I was but there are no other drastic changes that have taken place since I’ve lost weight.

The issues that I hoped weight loss would fix really have nothing to do with weight. The issues I want to work on have nothing to do with my size.

I know I’m not alone. What expectations did/do you have around losing weight?
