I love raw okra. I can get a package of okra and some seasoning and munch away.
This recipe was an experiment gone right. I originally made the buffalo sauce for some cauliflower I had made earlier and decided to try it on some okra.
I dehydrated the okra for two hours to get the sauce to set, but you can just dip the okra in the sauce and skip the dehydrator.
The sauce ingredients are as follows:
- 1 tomato
- 1 zucchini
- 1 jalapeño
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1/2 red bell pepper
- 3 dates (I used deglet noor dates)
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp of cumin
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
Taste the sauce and make adjustments as needed.
Toss the okra in the sauce and place them in the dehydrator. Set on 118 for 2 hours. Enjoy!
